One of the great benefit of having a LinkedIn profile is it allows you to build your person brand and develop your professional reputation, without having to spend a single dollar on a website to demonstrate your work, skills, knowledge, accomplishments, and experience. You can even write a blog on LinkedIn or as it’s called on the platform an “Article”.
Having a LinkedIn profile may also increase your presence on the internet. For example, if you Google “Alex Rost” you will see my LinkedIn page will show first, followed by my website. It’s not a guarantee that your page will rank first or second in Google’s search results but if you develop your LinkedIn well enough then and have your profile for some time you may rank first or second.

2. Networking
Arguable LinkedIn is the best platform for professional networking and maintaining connections. It provides you with the opportunity to connect with other professionals in your field, join relevant groups, participate in discussions and maintain your network. According to (SOURCE #1) 85% of jobs are filled through networking, if you are well connected, someone in your network may publish some job postings at their company or else. Recruiters may see your connection with somebody at the company they work at which maybe increase your chances of getting a job, alternatively your connection may put in a good word for you.
3. Career Development
Lastly, LinkedIn provides an excellent service called “LinkedIn Learning” which allows users edger to continue developing themselves professionally to do so. LinkedIn Learning is a subscription-based service, however if you are a student a post-secondary institution you may have free access to the service. LinkedIn Learning offers a various of different courses that offer certificates that range from Coding, Marketing, Sales to Information Technology.

LinkedIn is an excellent platform and tool for you to have to either improve or grow your network, your personal brand and or develop yourself professional with LinkedIn Learning. You might also be able to land your next job, through a connection. There are limitless professional opportunities that you can utilized on LinkedIn.
